Wood End Park Computing Ambassadors

At Wood End Park Academy, we have computing ambassadors who help represent and promote computing at our school. The ambassadors run a club during lunch time where pupils come in and complete a variety of activities on the computers. The ambassador’s key roles are to maintain all computing suites, keeping them clean and tidy, to help and assist children with their work, giving them computing tips and advice. Also another key role of theirs is to demonstrate how to be e-safe when using the internet.

British Film Institute - Animation Workshop
Recently some children from Years 5 and 6 (as well as our Year 4 Computing Ambassador) travelled to the London Southbank to visit the British Film Institute and take part in an Animation Workshop.

This workshop was tailor-made to teach them how to use highly effective animation skills in order to create a short animated film.
There were all kinds of creations with characters from deep down in the ocean to all the way up in the height of space.

The children worked in teams to carefully move their models, capture each frame and to decide what would happen next.

The results were excellent! Please click below to see the three videos that the children created and click here to see some photographs of the day.
