WEPA Safeguarding

“Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everybody’s responsibility.”

At Wood End Park Academy, we take pride in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of each child is our top priority. All staff are trained in Keeping Children Safe in Education. We have a dedicated team that responds to any safeguarding concerns.

The Safeguarding Team

Fauzia Khalil: Designated Safeguarding Lead; Director of Teaching and Learning

Surjeet Johra: Principal

Stacey Gamble: Deputy Principal

Sue Wigglesworth:
Family Support Worker

Farzana Din: Director of Inclusion

Avi Gill: Years 4 and 5 Vice Principal

The Safeguarding Team at Wood End Park Academy meet each week to discuss all safeguarding concerns. Each member is in receipt of up-to-date training and we ensure further updates are shared from the local cluster meetings. Posters are around the academy to let the staff and visitors know of who is in the Safeguarding Team so concerns can be reported promptly.

All members of staff at Wood End Park Academy have yearly Safeguarding training and updates throughout the year.  All staff are aware of and trained in the Prevent Strategy which helps to identify threats for extremist groups, both at home and abroad.

If you have any questions, queries or concerns then please don’t hesitate to contact our Designated Safeguarding Leads, Mrs Khalil and Mrs Mohamed.
